Let op: er zijn meerdere Avis op Google Maps in Santorini. De reviews op de andere locaties zijn veel realistischer.
Onze 2 credit- en 2 debitkaarten werkten zogezegd niet en werden niet geaccepteerd. Nochtans had Avis bij de reservatie al wel geld van mijn visakaart genomen én werkte de visakaart dezelfde dag in Athene nog wel. Omdat de kaart “niet werkte” werden verplicht om een extra verzekering te nemen van € 200. Wij weigerden en konden gelukkig wel terecht bij Hertz ernaast.
Avis is niet competent, traag en het zijn fraudeurs. Niet doen.

Please note there are several Avis on Google Maps in Santorini. The reviews at the other locations are much more realistic.
Our 2 credit and 2 debit cards supposedly didn't work and were not accepted. However, Avis had already taken money from my visa card when making the reservation and the visa card still worked the same day in Athens. Because the card "didn't work" they were obliged to take out extra insurance of € 200. We refused and luckily could go to Hertz next door.
Avis is incompetent, slow and they are fraudsters. Do not.

- No Car. No Replacement car.
- Poor Customer Service. Didn't Care.
- Move original AVIS JTR on google (with 2.8 reviewed star) out of the airport and recreate a new one.
AVIS nearly ruin my trip.
I reserved for Audi A3 for weeks ahead of my trip. But when I turn up there, they have no car for us. They said, they can give a ride to the hotel but we won't get our car until 6.00 PM. I mean I have plan to go to Amoudi Bay and I need a car for that!
AVIS = AVOID
RESPONSE to AVIS :
As AVIS claim that they will have replacement model for booking. Well that's not what happened to me. I don't mind at all for changing the model as long as it have 5 seater but AVIS has no car at all. The only option AVIS gave me is wait for the car by the end of the day , which means I will have to waste a full day.
The worst thing is the old AVIS JTR Airport in Google map got so many bad review so they decided to move the old one out of the airport and recreate the new one. You can check for AVIS that sit 1 km away from the airport, that's the original AVIS at Santorini Airport! When you read through the review, you will knew that everyone mentioned that one as AVIS Santorini Airport.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We booked a car through ADAC and got a pretty new poegeot 108 (with around 7k km). Reception and drop off from the car was also without problems. The parked cars also seemed pretty new. Maybe Avis got its problems handled, which have been described by previous reviews.
