A	Andreas Farkonas on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Είναι ένα από τα σημαντικότερα μνημεία της Νάξου, σήμα κατατεθέν του νησιού όπως και η πύλη του αρχαϊκού ναού του Απόλλωνα, η "Πορτάρα". Ο πύργος βρίσκεται στη νοτιοανατολική πλευρά της Νάξου, στη μέση περίπου του δρόμου ανάμεσα στο Ζα, το ψηλότερο βουνό της Νάξου και τη θάλασσα, σ' ένα ύψωμα που ορίζεται από τους δύο χειμάρρους, το Χείμαρρο ανατολικά και τα Πετρόνια δυτικά. Παρόμοιοι πύργοι -είναι κατά κανόνα της ελληνιστικής περιόδου και είναι ευρύτατα διαδεδομένοι στο Αιγαίο, από τους περισσότερους όμως δεν διακρίνονται παρά μόνο τα θεμέλια, ενώ ο πύργος του Χειμάρρου σώζεται στο εντυπωσιακό ύψος των 15 σχεδόν μέτρων. Αρκετά καλά σώζεται η εξωτερική του όψη, ενώ μεγάλα τμήματα της εσωτερικής επένδυσης έχουν καταρρεύσει ή είναι ετοιμόρροπα. Ο συγκεκριμένος πύργος κατά πάσα πιθανότητα χρησιμοποιήθηκε σαν παρατηρητήριο και κατά τους Μεσαιωνικούς χρόνους. It is one of the most important monuments of Naxos, a trademark of the island as well as the gate of the archaic temple of Apollo, the "Portara". The tower is located on the southeast side of Naxos, about halfway between Za, the highest mountain in Naxos and the sea, on a hill defined by the two torrents, Heimarro to the east and Petronia to the west. Similar towers - are usually of the Hellenistic period and are widespread in the Aegean, but most of them can only be seen in the foundations, while the Tower of Chimarros is preserved at an impressive height of almost 15 meters. Its exterior is quite well preserved, while large parts of the interior cladding have collapsed or are in ruins. This tower was probably used as an observatory during the Middle Ages.

Απέναντι από τον πύργο η περίφραξη εχει κοπεί και κάποιος χρησιμοποιεί πέτρες απο τον χώρο για να χτίσει ενα καλύβι... Too bad for her to abandon the monument. Γ	Γιάννης Παναγακόπουλος on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο πύργος του χειμάρρου είναι ένα από τα σημαντικότερα αξιοθέατα της Νάξου. Βρίσκεται είκοσι λεπτά έξω από το Φιλότι στον δρόμο για Καλαντό. Από τον πύργο για να φτάσετε στην παραλία του Καλαντού είναι ακόμη είκοσι λεπτά απόσταση. Πρόκειται για ένα κτίσμα που χρονολογείται μεταξύ 4ου και 3ου αιώνα π.Χ. και είναι ευρέως γνωστό για την ιδιαίτερη κατασκευή του. Όλες οι πέτρες από τις οποίες αποτελείται είναι κυρτές και εφάπτονται τέλεια μεταξύ τους. Αναλογιζόμενοι τα μέσα της εποχής που φτιάχτηκε καταλαβαίνετε πως είναι όντως κάτι το αξιοσημείωτο. Στον περίγυρο υπάρχουν ερείπια από άλλα κτίσματα και δύο μικρά εκκλησάκια. The torrent tower is one of the most important sights of Naxos. It is located twenty minutes outside Filoti on the road to Kalanto. It is still twenty minutes from the tower to reach the beach of Kalantos. It is a building that dates between the 4th and 3rd century BC. and is widely known for its unique construction. All the stones of which it is composed are convex and touch perfectly with each other. Reflecting on the media of the time it was made, you understand that it is indeed something remarkable. In the vicinity there are ruins of other buildings and two small churches.

T	Tom Steiner on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We only give two stars because the tower is still in renovation mode at the moment and not necessarily walkable as there is scaffolding everywhere and everything is very messy. Hopefully they will finish this area soon and open it up for visitors, it would have a lot of potential to immerse into history.
