Dimitris Resort Hotel - Matala Main Road

Very quite hotel in the country yard near Matala beach, the installations are old but it's clean, comfortable and the staff is polite and warm. Free parking, swimming pool and freezer. Nice views.

Extremely bad experience. In our Family Room there were 3 beds instead of 4 as on the booking. The fourth was a cot. All the mattresses were terrible, with the springs piercing the back, the cot is almost unusable even for a 20 kg baby as it is worn out. The room is exposed in the south, so it's torrid. At least there is the air conditioner, but it has not been cleaned for years, it has molds inside and smells. Unusable. The bathroom is small and lousy, even getting a shower becomes a problem. During the holiday the room have not been cleaned, neither the garbage taken away. The pool, built only to put the photos on the site is poorly kept, dirty, with a quantity of chlorine, put in uncontrolled way, which irritates as soon as the bath extends somewhat. Breakfast and meals are of low quality and prepared without any attention. The staff is exremely unkind, especially the girl at the reception, who with a fake smile of circumstance refuses to give any kind of service. Never had such a bad hospitality from a Greek. Carefully avoid dinner. Poor cook and impossible hours. The staff lacks the slightest desire and ability to do everithing. On the online booking sites rated two stars, on the private site rated three stars resort (ah, ah, fool), behind the door I find the Greek Tourist Board sheet with a rating of one (1) star and the cost of the room 50€ instead of the 137€ paid. Everything documented. On our trip in Crete the other structures with equal cost and rating were far superior, I would say luxurious in comparison. Avoid it carefully!!! Trust me. Now they will say that my booking was the ECONOMY one and that I put bad feedback because they refused to give me free drinks. FAKE!!! I'm honest, not thief like them! I've read the same answer to other customers, even on Tripadvisor. Ah ah ah! Copy and paste. Ridiculous.

The pool features prominently in the advertising, but it is empty! Apparently closed due to Covid, but this did not seem credible, since all other hotels where we stayed in Creta had lovely, functioning pools. I subsequently checked the Greek government regulations: outdoor hotel pools are allowed to open i.e. the owner wasn‘t telling the truth. Note: the pool is not covered or enclosed either i.e. a really dangerous hole in the ground!

Rooms on the small side but clean and air conditioning was adequate. Quiet and we could sleep well. Super easy parking and yet very easy walk into town and to the beach and harbor. Enjoyed the pool to cool off. Breakfast was better than most. Staff helpful and friendly.

Amazing service. Everything really clean. The area of the swimming pool is great to relax. Breakfast was buffet with lots of options, sweet and salty options.

Nice Place, only a few minutes away from the city and beach. Very quiet and clean. The staff is very friendly. The Pool is amazing for hanging out and relaxing.

Clean rooms, nice breakfast, really friendly staff. Within walking distance from the beach. Enough parking space for your rental car. Rooms are simple but everything you need will be in there.

Great welcome, swimming pool is nice and you have sun chair and umbrella. Concerning the room, everything inside do noises and you will hear your neighbours on the morning for sure. The amenities are there and you can park super easily in the front of the hotel. The wifi is also good. On the other hand the price was really good, one of the cheaper hotel we had during our trip.
