M	Meg McNamara on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would give this review zero stars if that were an option. The island of Hydra is beautiful however, Douskos Guesthouse is a nightmare. My husband and I reserved a room and took the ferry to the beautiful island. I gave a 03:00 arrival time when I confirmed the room. When we arrived at the guesthouse the door was locked and there was a sign with three phone numbers to call. We called the first to hear a phone ringing inside the building, a second which was disconnected and a third which was a very rude man who said he no longer worked there, and he couldn’t help. We called 7 more times and at 7Pm it started getting dark and we had to find another place to stay for the night. Luckily the people of Hydra are friendly and helpful, and we were helped by a store owner. Douskos called us at 9Pm asking if we were checking in, 6 hours after our scheduled arrival. We requested our money back and they declined. I highly recommend not staying at this location. It was very stressful and unpleasant.

The owner "forgot" about us, we founded the hotel's door locked and nobody answered at our repeated calls. The room was ok, but very cold. The AC had no power in the bathroom, of course. The first breakfast was fine, but on the second day we had to leave early in the morning (at 6:30) and there was no breakfast.

It was the perfect home away from home place and i would go back 100x more! The host will be forever in my heart for how kind and welcoming she is and the breakfast was 10/10!

From the completely renovated rooms to the huge tasty breakfast delivered to our room. Grace knows everyone in Hydra, her recommendations were wonderful, our accommodations were next to the market, Cathedral, hospital and close to the harbor. Our room had a nice view. Grace is so accommodating...we can't say enough about our stay..
A	Alex K on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ GREAT PLACE TO STAY - really enjoyed a 3 day stay here. ☑️ really well located in quite area of the town ☑️ we visited in pre season (April) and we’ll staff and very friendly ☑️ we stayed in a split level room, which was clean and very well finished with large comfortable bed ☑️ provided keys to access property when everyone was at home ☑️ (photos provided) breakfast served on roof top of SISTER HOTEL (Douskos Porthouse) - check that out to get closer to the port for a few extra €€ ☑️ did some washing for us and didn’t even charge us! ☑️ we booked for €104 a night via Agoda ❌ only negative was there was a noisy air conditioner outside our window. This was actually from the super market below, but would have love that to be fixed. Could only hear it a little bit with window and blind closed. In summary - we would 100% stay again!
