The simple but comfortable rooms have great views towards the White Mountain range and make an excellent base for hikers, with all the walking trails of the south coast and into the mountains within easy reach. The food is also great, with tasty greek homecooking dishes and yummy cakes. Recommended for vegetarians ánd meat lovers.
r	richjbarnett on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely place to take a break and sit and have a drink or meal. We sat in the shade outside enjoying the sweet smell of all the flowers. We enjoyed and ice cold beer and some lovely Raki and honey.

The location is so beautiful as you feel you are inside nature and the white mountains are just in front of you. Other than the view, the tavern is very nicely built. The owners are very welcoming and polite. The menu consists of local and traditional food and will surely satisfy everyone.

They have a large selection of food and everything we tried during the two days was delicious. The location is in the mountains and you have a great view on the mountain chains. Also there is a fantastic panorama view just a 20 minute walk away where you can see the sea. We even sent our friends here because we were so amazed.

One of the things we found was the Πλατανος Ταβερνα, and we loved it. The waiter was super friendly and open for a chat. The food was really delicious. If you go there, try the grilled lamb. It is definitely worth every penny. I can absolutely recommend the Taverna.

We stayed a few days in our van in the next door field to hike in the area and they were the most welcoming. Try the lamb, the Greek salad and the local crepe with cheese and honey !!! Also best tap beer in all of Crete and Greece
