Probably the cheapest accommodation in the area, but we had a really good stay during our vacation there. The staff is very friendly and helpful, always with the smile, the rooms are clean, and visited by room service every day. Yet if you like a nights out, and longer sleep in a morning you should choose a room further away from the pool, because it is noisy out there most of the time. The food was good, but a little repetitive, drinks were ok. Hotel is located in the middle of street filled with bars and restaurants, and the sea is approximately 400m away. So if you are planing to spend most of the time discovering the island, and only need food and a bed for a low price, that's definitely the best choice.

Good hotel. Not expensive, comfortable, pleasant service, tasty food. Close to the sea and Rethymno town. Nice pool, simple but cosy room with a big bathroom. Free drinks and snacks. I spent there 1 week with two children, we liked everything.

Incredibly friendly staff!! (Special thanks to Tanos!) Rooms were clean and cozy. Buffet during breakfast, lunch and dinner with a range of different, delicious dishes. During corona pandemic the staff gave you a plate with the food you chose. in my opinion a perfect decision to also work against food waste! Locations of the hotel is absolutely great. A good point to start different trips around the island (Chania about 1 hours drive by car and Heraklion also. You should be aware that the island is veeeery curvy and everything takes longer than expected) You need to cross the main stress in front of the hotel to get Access to the beach (2 minutes). The street itself is perfect for a stroll around town. A lot of Shops, restaurants and bars. The port is just 5 km away (10 minutes by car or a nice long walk). In front of the hotel is a big parcing space. I would absolutely recommend renting a car. Little contra point: the airconditioning costs 5€/day.

This was a 3* hotel and was i was very pleasantly surprised at how great value this hotel was. Our room oversaw the pool which was lovely. Room was very clean and cleaned daily, the shower was a good pressure level and the beds soft. The food was a good mix of Crete/Greek food along with other counties. Any meat dish was very tasty, and though I would say I'm a choosy eater there was many a lovely dish. Even with the measures that were put in place by the hotel during the pandemic there was always the reassurance that food was served safely and of course you had what you wanted portion wise. Drinks always had a queue but the staff always served quickly and with a smile. They were very friendly and you felt nothing was too much trouble. The only slightly weird thing was that we were all inclusive but you had to pay extra for any spirits which were 4€. Apart from brandy, ouzo and a drink that was weak vodka with red cordial in it. These you could have after 7 o'clock. The hotel was situated a stones throw from one of the best beaches ive seen. Calm water with pale soft sandy beaches. The beaches weren't busy but that could be because of the pandemic who knows but it was lovely. The pool was a good size with enough beds around its outside. I would definitely come back to this place again and almost definitely the hotel too. Well worth 5* and the price paid.

My partner and I enjoyed our stay at Rethymno village. IMO the best things about it were: friendly staff, clean rooms & facilities and location. Our stay was at the end of season and I felt that we had good value for what we paid. Would return.

We had a wonderful time at the Rethymno Village Hotel. We just spent 2 weeks and everything was perfect. The hotel, the room, the swimming pool. The hotel is extremely clean and there is staff constantly cleaning all areas, especially near the bar and pool. We read several reviews on the food variety and we think that, in our opinion, there is sufficient variety of food for an all inclusive resort with one restaurant. Free drinks (including beer and wine) are always available, every morning they have snacks, every afternoon ice-creams, every evening they have a selection of liquors and brandies. Other cocktails, for those wishing something different, are always available for sale, usually around €4. The location of the hotel is superb, on the main street of Platanes and a 2 minute walk from dozens of restaurants, bars and shops. The hotel is also 3 minute walk from the nearby beaches although please note that all beaches in Rethymno (except very few ones very close to the harbour) have stones which can be quite a pain if you are not used to them. Alternatively, you can buy special shoes at one of the many shops nearby. If you are looking for crystal clear water and pristine beaches, however, we recommend to rent a car and make a few excursions to the south coast (driving distance varies from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the beach location). A bus will take you to the central Rethymno, which is a true gem only a few kilometres away, for €1.20 or €9 by taxi which could be a convenient option if you are sharing with others. The staff are extremely friendly and will do their very best to help you. You can request a basket lunch for the days when you will be doing excursions. In our opinion this should be at least a four star hotel and we will definitely go back.
