Very bad communication. They give a price on the phone in the morning, the line cuts after they put you on hold 3 times and a higher price (for the same car, same date, same services) in the afternoon. If they can't do the bookings properly, I don't want to imagine how they handle actual problems.

Don't ever rent from Europcar in Greece! The rudest people I had to deal with. I was yelled at by the representative in Heraklion location. For the money I paid I get yelled at!!! And he refused to give his name. Unacceptable. And I am still waiting for my refund, it;s been 3 weeks!

The santorini branch didnt even have a google map location. No one picked us up at the airport. Tried calling but cant get through. Had to wait and keep asking around. Finally found it outside airport under EuropCar, with a tiny A4 printed sign of "Interent". And car was quite old. Was forced to buy insurance that was more expensive that my car rental, because my credit card wasn't functioning.

STAY AWAY from Europcar!!! There are so many other rental car companies nearby. Service is extremely rude and unprofessional. We got a car where we could not fit our luggage eventhough it said it fits 2 suitcases. They also did not tell us that the office at the airport (which was our drop off location) is more than 10 minutes outside the airport. And it was very hard to find. We will NEVER AGAIN book with Europcar!

Would give 0 stars if I could. Worst experience in Athens. If the demand for cars is high, and your rate is good because you booked months in advance, they tell you for some mysterious "reason" your CC is not a credit card in their system, so they can rent your car at higher rate to somebody else. I don't understand how expedia is working with these guys, they should read google ratings to choose their vendors. We have wasted a day because of this agency, calling our banks, with kids... and not a second glance from the staff. Finally we had to cancel and go rent with an other car rental company.

Unfair Damage Penalty from Europcar in Athens We have rented a car (Nissan Micra) from the central Office of Europcar in 25 Sygrou Avenue in Athens on 05.07.2016. The car has several scratches on the back bumper, we recognized them. In the acceptance of the car, the officer of Europcar did not mark these damages while filling the car rental inspection form. We reminded these scratches and he marked the major damage on the back bumper but he admitted that it’s not needed to mark smaller ones which are recognized by us. We trusted on the reliability(!) of the Europcar because it’s a well-known company, however now we understand that it was a huge mistake. After 3 days rental, we brought the car to the Europcar Office in the Athens Airport on 08.07.2016 in order to deliver it. In the delivery, the officer of Europcar recognized a very small scratch under the back bumper (can be seen in the attached picture) and accuse us for these damage. We stated that these damages were already located in the bumper, they are not related with us. We did not crash or graze against something while driving the car. Unfortunately, the officer of Europcar insisted on his malicious accusation and he behave in an unfriendly manner. He accused us for 148 € damage penalty for this small scratch which is a very unfair situation and wanted us to sign the document of the penalty. We tried to explain this situation approximately for one hour. We requested him to call the central office where we rented the car and ask to the officer who inspected our car in the acceptance. The central office can inform him about the real situation. But, he did not talk with the central office and continue to insist on taking 148 € damage penalty from us. Our time was limited and time of our flight from the Athens Airport was approaching. Finally, we were obliged to sign the penalty document, otherwise we can miss our flight and we were not be able to quit the country within the time limits of our visa. We have highly suffered from the Europcar in this situation. In the final words, we request an investigation about previous rental reports of the car which we rented from Europcar. The previous damages of the car consisting of this one can be discovered in these documents. This damage did not belong to us and our legitimacy in this situation can be proved when the records of these damages are found out in the previous rental reports of our car. We request from the company to recover our losses and highly recommend to other customers that “do not choose and trust on Europcar especially in the foreign countries”.

Far from airport. Car too old and not very safe (> 37000 km) : but this I can understand as the rental price was good. However, they charged some fuel at the end of the contract despite bringing back the car with more fuel than the start !!! 2 different contracts at the beginning of the rental showing 2 different fuel levels !!! 30 euros given as "best refueling price" at the end and finally 40 euros charged as I was complaining of this robbery. 1st time it happens to me after >100 rentals in every countries. So not rigorous at all to say the least. Try something more serious and located within the airport even if a bit more expensive...

Booked through a third party company and when I went to collect the car was told that I needed a credit card which was not shown before the booking was made. This was unless I paid the price for the insurance on the car, which was more than the price of booking the car itself. Eventually I had no choice but to go for this too so it more than doubled the cost for the car hire in reality. I got the car with 5/8ths of fuel which is a pain of course but didnt think much of it. When returning the car, I had to rush to get this back at the time I stated (traffic) and outside was a fuel station, I put some fuel in the car and unfortunately got it to the top end of 4/8ths. I had no time left to ask the guy to put in what probably would have been 2E more. I was then charged an outrageous 12.50 for this. Since then, I accidentally left something in the car and they told me they would call me back in 15 mins. This is now around 30 hours ago so I will be calling back.
