Most importantly, for first timers, you will have your own instructor diving along side during the duration of the dive. They have a lot of personal, capable of speaking multiple languages. Before you dive, they will explain to you how it all works, what you can expect, what to do etc. It was explained in dutch to us and the girl was very enthusiastic/passionate about it. That can also be said for all of their personal. You really feel safe and at home with these people, which is good as comfort is very important when diving. The location is great, before the dive we went snorkeling there, the water is so clear! And so many fishes. Loved it. The dive itself was and amazing experience, this due to all factors combined. Great personal, location, clear water and lively sea. I would highly recommend trying out diving here!

Starting with having teachers in a wide range of languages, making sure you get the information and tests in the language you’re most comfortable with, and ending with their excellent gear and patience. As the nearby hotel and its pool were rather crowded at the time, my teacher Simone Galavazi gave me the opportunity to take my lessons in the bay quite quickly as to give the opportunity to be able to move around and do and re-do the exercises properly. While we weren’t lucky and we didn’t see any of the “special sightings” we still very much enjoyed every dive and the exploring under water while also learning a lot. Overall it was an amazing experience and I highly recommend to spend more than one day to explore the sea floor around this beautiful island.

Scuba diving is easy for all levels from beginners to experience divers. The modern DC operates since 1998. The dive sites at Kalypso area are private and operates like Diving Sea Park where fishing is prohibited and the area is stored by the owner and scuba professionals. So, you can plenty of big groupers, turtles, sting rays, lionfish and many different kind of fish. The best service in Kalypso is the one to one (1:1) with your dedicated instructor for beginners and because of this the quality of services to the customers are always in a high level and very safe for everyone!

Instructions in various languages, equipement well kept and clean and very close and attentive coaching. Prepare for a long hot day though, as the sun is merciless. There is a small bar that serves refreshments, and toilets are available nearby.

After a short introduction to the theory we did some snorkeling until it was our turn to put on the diving gear. We were roughly 1 hour below water and saw a lot of fishes, crabs, and other animals. It was amazing! Special thanks to Jerome who was a great instructor!
