Very nice place, food is good and reasonably priced, everything is fresh and service is super nice, they gave kids ice cream for desert as a compliment, which made then happy ))

We called in this delightful restaurant at the end of October 2019 one evening having seen it from the Panagia Kera earlier in the week. Being at the end of the tourist season the restaurant was extremely quiet - us being the only customers besides the beginnings of what seemed like a village party inside. We sat outside surrounded by olive and fruit trees, all of which are draped in fairy lights and look really quite charming. The food was excellent - I chose a mousakka (obviously!). It was delightfully seasoned and cooked to perfection. We had not asked for a pudding however they brought us out a plate of dumpling type things smothered in honey and sesame seeds which was extremely lovely of them to do, and even more lovely for us to enjoy. As we were leaving a local woman was entering with a basket of apples which she had picked that day in the surrounding mountains and she stopped to give us a handful of them. I thought this is a great restaurant run by great people and should I ever return to the area I will most certainly be going back here.

Not great in comparison to the other restaurants we've tried on Crete. We had to wait 55 minutes for our starters and an additional 15 minutes for the main course. The Greek salad and Darkos were alright, though nothing special. (Photos attached to the review) Our main course was disappointing. The noodle Bolognese barely had any sauce, our gyros plate was missing onions even though it was said to have them, the potato chips were soaked in frying oil and everything else on the plate was swimming in olive oil. The meat tasted more like a German Gulasch than gyros. Hencewhy I do not suggest a visit, even though (to be fair) the ambience is really nice and cosy and the personal was friendly.

Where do I start? This is not just food, it’s an incredible experience. An adventure. Every taste, bite and ingredient takes you somewhere. You will want more. The stuffed vine leaves are to die for. We’ve tried many restaurants in Crete and we always come back to this one, it is exceptionally insane.

Fantastic meal, super friendly owner, tasty food by rhe olive and lemon trees. Best spot on Crete. We modified our itineraries to eat here more often…

The place is amazing, it feels really traditional. All vegetables are from the owner’s garden which is nearby the outside area of the restaurant. I think the giro portion and the fried zucchini were the best ones I ever had :)
