★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The famous Egyptian lighthouse marking the entrance of the old Venetian harbour of Rethymno. The lighthouse is 9 meter high and was built in the decade of 1830 by the Egyptians. At that time, Crete was handed over to the Egyptians by the Ottoman Turks. It is the main landmark of the city of Rethymno. It is the second of its kind in Crete (another famous and bigger lighthouse exists in Chania).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice Old lighthouse build by Egyptian in 1838. The lighthouse of Rethymno is the second largest remaining Egyptian lighthouse in Greece, the first is in Chania .Currently, the lighthouse of Rethymno is not being operated but it’s worth visiting.
