We were made to feel so welcome at this beautiful place. Came across unexpectedly it when travelling from Georgiopouli to Douliana. Workmen restoring parts of the monastery motioned for us to enter and what we found there was both interesting and made for lovely photos. It had no feeling of being a commercial enterprise, just a monastery trying to restore the older ruined parts of the building. The workmen told us they were trying to restore the olive presses with the help of the villagers, local workmen and people like ourselves who visited and contributed a few euros. A very beautiful place and such a wonderful welcome.

Bravo for the good renovation work (done and ongoing). Don’t forget to go down to the right to see the previous press room where the monks produced their olive oil. Entrance fee is 2 €. It is worthed as it will certainly help the renovation.

Always happy to come back to the Monastery year after year. The venetian style church and the remains of the olive oil stone presses and warehouse with its multiple arches are worth seeing.

On the way to plakias, we made a quick stop to the this monastery in ruined. We were welcome by 2 lovely old lady that explain us the place. The entrance is 2€/pax. There is the church and her beautiful yard and right on the bottom of it the old monastery ruins. You will spend 10 to 20 min in a nice atmosphere.

Very peaceful and tranquil. Worth the two euros entrance. The church is tiny and smells strongly of incense which took me back to my Catholic upbringing. We were given a present of a slice of brioche bread each - wonderful.
