Haha it says belted mosque but you come across a christian temple..must act in a disrespectful western country that has no tolerance for Muslims...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A fantastic nunnery (female monastery) on the western outskirts of the city of Rethymno. The nunnery was established in the 16th century and it is located on a hill offering a bird's eye view of Rethymno and the coast. It has a great icon painting tradition. One can admire the main church (katholiko), the nicely kept gardens and the visitors room (arxontariki). The nuns are extremely hospitable and willing to guide you. Check the opening hours before going, as monasteries have a strict schedule taking account of the season.
