The staffing is outstanding! Probably the most friendly customer service I've ever seen. First it was a little difficult to find their "office", but everybody was super helpful at the airport. Surprice might not rent the most beautiful or newest cars you know, but as the price is so low you definitely can't complain about anything. The guys explained everything super honest & precise, so I didn't have the feeling I have to worry about hidden costs at all! We had a violet-metallic, small Suzuki, which brought us everywhere we wanted to go very safe! Big fun!

They spoke great English and German. Offered 75 Euro for no credit card block and $0 excess but did not try to force us to use it Offered newish cars, unlike most car rentals we saw that were quite old in crete (HER). Didnt get the car i ordered but thats ok as the equiv car was fine. But they did allow for $20 a early drop off at 4.30am which most places did not. When we returned the car they did a quick check but did not try to find any tiny scratches, or get more money out of us. Very good and happy with the smooth process. Car was great on fuel, i think we spent 45 euro and drove about 800km or more. Visited Spinalonga, Agios Nicolaous, Zeus cave, Elafonisi beach, Rethymno To find the place you walk across the road once you are out of the airport. You will see a walkway to the top of the rental car yard with hertz etc but you dont walk up here. You head downhill to the left to the round about and turn right and walk 20m to the Surprise stand, they will then take you to the main car yard were you pick up your car. But you return it to this location at the airport. Crete in general has many old cars, we got a Citroën C3. Newish model i would say.

Don't even bother to go there: – They have a provisional counter at the airport, but then you move somewhere else. Although is not very far, you must wait for a small shuttle to take people every 10 minutes to go there, so if you have more than 10 people on front you should be ready to wait up to 30 mins to get to the next counter. – After arriving to the counter, you must wait another 30 mins to be able to speak with someone. – Communication is poor, we spent another 30 minutes talking with the employee – Most probably you'll have to pay extra money for whatever reason: if paying card is from your partner: you pay extra; your partner made the reservation but the driver is another person: you pay extra; et cetera. – They don't accept driver licences issued outside the European Union (you'll learn this at the place and after paying on the website), also if this happens you need to change the driver, and of course: pay extra. – Curiously, they say that any change in the names or IDs of driver/person that reserved implies issuing a new contract, and as a consequence adding new fees. However, these new contracts are a generic piece of paper where they write names with a pencil, so I don't understand the rationale behind new fees due to "re-doing" the contract. – As usual, company blames the website (rental cars), website blames the company, and you are trapped in the middle. I also so other clients with children, whom went to pick the car in the fake counter at the airport to realise there are no cars. They had to return to the airport, tell their partners, return with the children and wait for the shuttle.

We rented a 7 seat car, received a trashed car full of broken parts. After driving it a bit we noticed that the speed indicator wasn't working (is it even legal to rent a car ?!). Really disappointed. They asked for a deposit of €1200 for a car that wasn't worth €400 with the full tank... After 24h we got a flat tire and returned the car. They kindly have us a brand new Citroen, really smooth and really comfortable. It was an upgrade and it was really appreciated. Overall it was a positive experience, but does not deserve a 4 star rating...

Through orbits, I requested Hyunday I20, Opel Corsa, Ford Fiesta.. but they gave me an outdated Skota Fabia.. the car was falling apart, radio didn't work, and horsepower was LOOOW. Can't recommend this place

We booked a car online for 3 days for 90€ that thought it was more than ok for a basic no extras car in Heraklion. However when we arrived we were informed to pay for insurance etc either 65€more or 800€ would have been blocked from the card we used online for at least 2 months because of bank policy. We couldn’t refund 0€. It’s not about the money but about the communication to the client about the terms of an irrational insurance that made no sense but to raise their price at 155€.

We asked for a Toyota aygo we got a Nissan micra from 2014. ❌ the steering was very bad, in 4th gear the steering wheel moves by itself and it is very dangerous when cornering, no rear wiper, ❌no car radio, ❌buttons broken, the car is in really bad condition, I prefer to pay more and be safe. we did not appreciate this vehicle for our vacation we will come back to Crete but we will book through another rental company, ✅ the only positive point is the staff which is rather pleasant and the airport shuttle which is very appreciable

Surprice offers the best not only in Crete but Athens and Thessaloniki to. We had done a little research and after many phone calls we have decided to choose this car rental. The contract is very simple and transparent, no controversial provisions. The car was in decent condition, brakes and suspension working very fine, air conditioning was in excellent condition. I recommend this car rental for sure.
