It doesn't get more authentic and tasty ..real village surroundings ( no prefab tourist stuff)..veggies, cheese , ,meat , olive oil are strictly local.. food is really tasty and last but not least. ..man !! Prices!! U can have junk food and pay a lot more ...Just do it ??

We went on Sat evening where tables were laid up outside, four when we first arrived and this increased to ten through out the evening. We would go again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow. Everything about our experience at Taverna Maria was just stunning. The food by Maria is beautiful, the homemade wine made by her husband is excellent and the service from the rest of the family is second to none.
If you want an authentic, local Crete dining experience at very low cost visit Maria!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This little family restaurant is a real gem. The menu will be read to you by the extra friendly family staff. No pricing will be mentioned as it doesn't really matter. Every dish seems to be absolutely delicious, we tried 5 different items. Likely the best food we had in Crete in 2 weeks. Once you get the bill, you'll realize that you just had the best valued food experience possible - enjoy!

There are no words to thank you enough. You took part into making our wedding the most perfect one.
