The Royal Blue Resort - Panormo Geropotamou

We just got back from a relaxing week stay at The Royal Blue. From the minute we checked in, to checking out the staff were very helpful. The hotel itself is amazing, a modern relaxed feel and very clean. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfy. We got upgraded to a ground floor room with a sharing pool, which we had to ourselves most of the time and our own sun loungers outside our private balcony area. Other pro’s: -Good variety of food at the breakfast & dinner buffet and to quite a high standard - some of it is cooked fresh in front of you by the chef’s. Also offered a different drink each evening when entering and the staff are mostly very friendly. -General atmosphere of hotel is peaceful & relaxing - The main pool is huge and sun loungers are comfy -The cabana’s around the private beaches are great (and free to use) -There were deals on in the beach bar and a happy hour every evening in the hotel lobby bar (great variety of cocktails and other drinks) - Beach bar Thea is fab, DJ on some nights, good bartender and great to watch the sunset from there - Room service was to a high standard and the maids did a great job! - Choice to swap your buffet dinner to lunch instead at the pool bar (if you are half board) - The cat cafe to feed the cats! - Toiletries in the rooms were very nice, and the rooms came with gowns and slippers. It was nice to have a fridge also & tea/coffee making facilities. The only con we had was the fact that it was very hard to get served drinks whilst at the buffet in the morning and evening, the staff although very hard working, were busy doing more than one thing at once so there wasn’t much structure and they seem to forget about taking your drinks orders. There were 2 nights when we went without drinks. The ‘fun button’ at the pool loungers were a great addition but did not always work (not sure if this is because it was slightly out of season when we went) Also you can only pay with credit card or cash (they do not accept debit card in some of the bars) however there is an ATM on site. Other than this we can hardly fault the hotel and staff. We had a lovely week away here making the most of the hotel facilities and chilling out. Although it’s in a remote area the town of Rethymno is not far by bus, and local shops around. Thankyou Royal Blue for a much needed week away! ???

Great experience. Awesome views of Aegean Sea. Excellent atmosphere, friendly staff, good food, great pool with salty water on the cliff, nice sea entrance. Quiet resort. If you choose a sea view, be aware that most probably you'll see a corner of the sea. If you want full view, ask for sea frontal. Be aware that you need credit card, NOT debit card to charge your orders for food, drinks, spa, whatever. If you don't have one, you will have to pay everything only on cash. There is an ATM just outside the hotel. Inside the resort there is a small shop for water and some other things (snacks, personal care, water merchandise etc). There is also a rent a car station, but is expensive and requires 300 euro as a guarantee. For sure you'll find better services elsewhere. Anyway, is a resort that it's worth the price.

Excellent hotel. Large rooms with shared pool. Large dining room with a variety of excellent cuisine. A very beautiful private beach and very clean. Number of public pools. Quiet and pleasant atmosphere. The staff is always ready to help with anything. The whole hotel and its surroundings are very clean and well maintained. Free parking and a spacious lobby. High prices but full value for money. Relatively conveniently located to interesting places in Crete. Highly recommended hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at the Royal Blue. It is very spacious, clean and a beautiful location. The rooms:- We were upgraded to a sea front suit on arrival, WOW. So clean comfortable and beautiful views. The staff:- Are very professional and genuinely friendly. They can’t do enough for you, such lovely people, it’s like being with friends. The food:- We have been to many Greek islands and 5 star hotels, the food here was by far, the best. Fresh ingredients made with care and so tasty. Beautiful. Overall. A fantastic Holliday. Lovely setting plenty of room to enjoy the facilities.. Pools, beach & coves. Water sports for everyone.... A little isolated to walk to local hostelries, but there is a cheap "walley trolley" to nearest town for local food & drinks. Staff were amazing, food was for all tastes. Lazing around the poolside & soaking up the sun.. Lovely?

Beautiful hotel with direct access to a nice, clean beach. At the hotel you have everything you may need during your stay - pools, gym, restaurants, bars etc. When you are resting by the pool or at the beach, you have a special "fun button" where you can order drinks or snacks. Staff was very friendly and competent. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. I really enjoyed hotel smartphone app, where you can check menus, book a table or gym. Overall it was a pleasure to spend vacation at The Royal Blue Resort.

Our stay was very pleasant. Upon arrival, guest service staff assisted us and provided complementary welcome drinks. Staff are super professional and welcoming. They also provided bottle of champagne and wine and decorated the bedroom with flowers as they knew it was our honeymoon. They also upgraded our room from one with private pool to a villa free of charge. The breakfast was very rich and yummy. Housekeepers were very attentive and professional, room was very clean as well as the pool. Spa was nice and food was delicious. We would like to thank all staff and Maria in particular for their professionalism. Definitely this hotel exceeded our expectations. We would visit again in the future.

My wife has a strong reaction to all types of nuts but we really haven't been able to get to the root of trying to inform the kitchen staff and finding foods that were separate from the foods that had nuts in them. Last night the allergy card said no nuts but I checked the chocolate coating on one of the deserts to find crushed nuts in it. The day before the feta cheese had walnuts on it with no warnings. We have informed the staff. Everything else is beautiful. With general staff friendly and helpful. OK.... So part 2. We have had a couple of conversations with staff and I think progress was made. Part 3....... We got there tonight at the main restaurant. Food was clearly marked, all the desserts were labeled as having nuts although I'm not sure that was true BUT they sorted a couple of desserts that were nut free for my wife and she was able to relax and enjoy them. Much better than worrying if your epipen is near at hand so...... Thank you Royal Blue. Hope this helps others in a similar situation.
