Arrived around midnight but was welcomed as if it was midday even made an omlette as I was pretty hungry washed down with local Ouzo ..Will take welcome over accommodation every time

Great place with super friendly staff. Close to the beach and with restaurants nearby. Perfect for visitors who intend to rent a car and explore the island as its easy to drive to and from. Great value for money.

Nice place, near the beach, with an good restaurant (Pergola) held by Manolis and Maria Pitsouli! Not the typical food for Crete, but ask for pizza, ;) Manolis and Maria are certainly not the typical tourists attending people neither: just great people, open minded, available, friendly. That explains the clients coming back for the last 30 year or so. Planning to come back for the next 30 years myself.

Very nice hotel for the price we paid. We took the number 6 bus to Amoudara from Heraklion airport which stops eight outside the hotel. Were greeted at the restaurant and promptly checked in. Working AC and television, there was also a fridge in our room. Would have liked to have some more glasses and plates in our room, but we were very statisfied with our stay!

Friendly staff, nice pool and okay room for the price. They speak good English and can help you find the right bus and such. Perfect with its close location to the beach and bus stop. Bus from airport stops right by the hotel :)

If you’re looking for some resort with robots with fake smiles, don’t come to Violetta. If you’re looking for an experience that can only be defined as charming, then Violetta is your place. Violetta isn’t some sterile place that cookie cutter tourists go to. It’s a place that travelers go to, people who seek real life rather than some bubblegum pop Santorini nightclub. Violetta and the attached restaurant, Pergola, are quaint family run businesses. There is a spirit there at Violetta that far exceeds the sum of its parts. Generations maintain the place and every corner is absolutely drenched in love. Really, the place is something out of a novel and reminds me of Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel. The place is different. Violetta has character. I have to talk of course about my friend George. George is the one man band behind the whole operation, running up and down Pergola and Violetta holding the place together as the front man. His family works behind the scenes, cooking and doing all the other necessities. George is, however, the man who made my stay at Violetta all the more memorable. Word to the wise: treat George well, and he’ll treat you well. After a day I felt a part of the family, as every night of my only too brief stay George and I would talk for hours over raki. I’ve been all over the world and have been very lucky to do so. What I found at Violetta you don’t find just anywhere. There is only one hotel I’ll stay at in Crete and it’s Violetta. Thank you George and family. I’ll be looking for any excuse to go back.

This fantastic country hotel and the family who owns it is worth a stay. We dont want to go home and the term "hygge" is the definition of our holiday here. The children loves it, food, drinks, pool, location and service is perfect. We can highly recommend it and hope we soon will visit Hotel Violetta and our new friends at this lovely family hotel. 100 meters from nice sandy beach with lots of activities for all ages.

The studio was basic but had everything we needed and was clean with sheets and towels changed mid week. The pool was lovely and very pretty surrounded by flowering shrubs. The food was lovely and freshly cooked. George and his parents were lovely. They were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. George recommended some great places to visit and was very informative. An all round great value hotel.
