★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The driver was polite but all the rest of the service was bad. I received the car with the right lamp of the break broken but the worst was the baby seat, it was disgusting, the baby couldn’t touch it because it was very dirty otherwise he/she could have got an infection. The air condition was not working good. Last but not least, I received the tank of gasoline empty (red lamp) so I had to search immediately for a gas station.
Never again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly staff. Fair prices. Car in good condition. It's for sure no disadvantage to check the car for damages receiving it, as the car is checked precisely on return. But (as causing no additional damage) this didn't cause me any problems.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In an industry full of crooks, dodgy charges and overpriced everything, AA cars set a standard you just don’t expect. They were professional, lovely and couldn’t be more helpful.
Even when I made an error on the booking date they corrected on the day without any fees (just the extra day)… to top that off, I lost track of what we agreed and had a cal already 2 hours late as they were ‘worried something had happened to us’. When I explained I was at dinner and would be another 4 hours (gone 8pm for a 2pm drop), it was as if I’d asked the time, I can’t speak highly enough of how this is how car rentals should be. It’s just that good.

If your focus is to save money, maybe this is a good fit for your. For a longer road trip I wouldn’t recommend.
On the negative side: the car had an alert about: “oil maintenance”. They told us to ignore it, and it makes me wonder how good they pay attention to maintenance, specially safety relevant ones.
The seats don’t look clean - supposedly due to salt water stains. In the back seat and in other parts you could see sand, the car was not just not well clean.
The transfer to the airport after the check out was nice and fast organized. When we arrived though we had to wait quite some time before the transfer picked us up at the airport.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very friendly owner and pick up on time. No pressure, hassle or scam in any way.
The only downside was the high mileage of the car and therefore its condition. (70k km on a Nissan Micra are like 200k km on a german car). Though not really safety related issues... at the end it's not a racecar ;)
All in all a great experience with an even better price-performance ratio.
Can recommend without reservation.
