DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM BUDGET/AVIS at this airport on the spot I repeat DO NOT! The employees are cheats and a fraud. I had walked up to Budget car rental to ask for their price for the rental, I was going to stay in Greece no more than 2 days. The woman behind the counter told me 17x.xx euros. I walked away to check with enterprise they were all booked. I went ahead and checked online and found a deal on Avis which charged me $87.35 for online rental. I rented a vehicle online and walked over to AVIS, showed them my confirmation number. The lady on Budget rental side looked over and smiled as she spoke (Greek) to the person who was helping me on the AVIS side. I had a feeling she was telling him something regards to me but cared not and as I checked the documents. The person informed me of the insurance policies document and etc. I was in a rush and left the counter to get the car from the lot. Didn’t catch much attention to the total amount in euros as I had already gotten an email with the total cost from AVIS for my booking. Upon returning to U.S I went through the charged on my credit card, they charged me extra $186.77. Thinking it was a mistake I called and spoke to AVIS customer server on 04/28/2018, they did the calculation and informed me it was a fault on their end (spent good hour or more on the phone). They opened up a claim for me and asked to call back during regular business hours. I called back after five days, they said the claim had been submitted and the payment will be refunded in 5 days. As of today I have had nothing refunded to me. I wasted good 3 hours on the good with these people. I NEVER write reviews but it took a lot from AVIS to get this one….

The service at reception was not courteous. We got a not new car with a noisy and vibrating diesel engine. Bottom line I do not recommend this company.

I was pretty surprised how awesome the experience was. Usually you think rental car company... in Greece... at the airport and you cringe on any one of those 3. I had made my reservation through rentalcars.co.uk so expected a beater with an 8000 hold on my card unless I bought crazy amounts of insurance. Well I am very happy to say that the counter staff were absolutely wonderful. Showed me a picture of the cars available on a tablet (ended up getting a volvo v40 quite new and well maintained. They only kept 65 euro for the gas and off I was. Also the return was so simple and easy we kinda thought... "is that it? "b seams a little too easy. Anyway now I am a budget for life customer. So you guys really, really can't see the pre-existing damage on my photos from pick up, when compared to your photos from returning? Really not? Amazing!! How many customers have you already charged for the same damage? 10? 20? That car must be a money making machine for you guys! Brilliant! Thankfully my credit card company (shout out to Capital One for being awesome!) isn't quite so purposefully blind and issued a full refund of your fraudulent charges. Better luck next time and to anyone who is unfortunate enough to rent with you!

Attention: Please, pay attention- strictly do not advise to anybody this company. I have taken the car at midnight in the airport with a large family and many suitcases, that is why I did not noticed, that key of the auto was fixed with a scotch and in improper wiew. But it was completely workable and operational all ten days. When I tried to return car - the auto key in the hands of a budjet car company manager - was found in bad condition. Although completely workable and operational - the charge for the slightly improper car key was 223 EURO. This was completely stupid and bad situation. The man, who received the car LIED to my face - that manager is busy and could not be adressed to. I have used different companies many times, but such a insolent and abusive attention to client was met for the first time. I strictly DO NOT ADVISE to anybody to use Budjet car company. As you may be tricked the same way. 220 EURO for the slightly damaged auto key ring, which was in improper state fron the beginning.

You may use this company car only in case you want your holidays in Greece to be ruined and spoilt by insolent and impudent attention from car manager in Sigrou avenue. Be prepaed to be charged for smallest damage to the key ring 10 or 15 times more it real cost. The manager will not pay real attention to your claims. If you will arrive to the airport in the night - the car will be parked in very bad lightened area and you should pay attention to the key ring - as you may be charged unfair and unjustice amount. Stay away! Their systems “don’t communicate with UK licences anymore”. I explained I don’t have my licence at the moment as it’s being updated. He said only country’s that provide a QR code can do it without the physical licence. I go away, manage to get a QR code in my apple wallet straight from the DVLA. Nope not good enough. Stuck in the middle of the night in the airport and no way to get anywhere. Also not allowed to change the name on the booking or get a refund as it’s booked through the airline.

This is the worst car rental company ever! They even precharge you for fuels in case you wont return it filled up in full! In case you will return it in full they say that they will refund you the amount 1 month later!!! In my case, after 3 months I havent received any refund yet!!! I have sent them many emails with no respond! I've just got scammed!
