CarandGo - Rent a Car - Heraklion Airport

Since it was the cheapest Rental near the airport we could find, we were somewhat sceptical. They just accept cash and you need to pay a part up front. We had to sign a weird paper to pay for any damage on the car after giving it back. Be careful! Take pictures! The car itself was unpleasant to drive and quite old. We expected them to find things to charge us for when giving the car back but no issues! We had to wash the car before giving it back but that costs like 11€ in any gas station. Can we recommend them? We had no issues but a nicer car would’ve been probably worth it since this one was a pain!

CarandGo worked fantastic for us, all of the staff were super friendly and they gave us a good deal on the car and made our whole teams experience great. Highly recommended!

I must admit some very bad reviews I read after booking with carandgo worried me but I shouldn't have been. Not a single complaint: car was in good condition and with low mileage, checks were thorough both before and after returning the car. I never had the impression that they were taking advantage of the situation and, since the car was returned clean (as clearly requested in the contract) and in the same condition as it was given to me, everything went smoothly and the deposit was duly unblocked. I do not understand why some people are complaining about the 800 euro deposit: it was clearly written in the contract and not certainly something I found out later. Everybody is free to choose another company if they do not like the conditions!

Everything run smoothly. Fast airport pick up and drop off. Employees were extremely kind. Car in excellent condition with low mileage. Nothing really to complain about. Will definitely book again.

If I could this place 0 stars I would! Avoid them, they are not nice & extremely unhelpful. We booked our car through vipcars which had good reviews on collection, I forgot my passport and credit card at the apartment. We made the guy behind the counter aware, he was extremely rude and abrupt & said we can’t be long to get the documents else the hire could cancel. On return, my credit card kept cancelling, I phoned my bank and they said no issues with my card. I tried a different card and again cancelled. I asked for an explanation from the guy but he could not provided me with an explanation, told me that only way around it was to pay cash upfront and extra chargers of 26 euro per day. He was extremely unhelpful and rude, we had to be at our resort and were travelling back and forward from Heraklion. I refused to pay the cash upfront and extra charges for a car hire which they kept pushing on us. We have now went with a different company & absolutely no issues with my credit card & no reading trust pilot reviews this is normal as they try scam people into paying the additional costs . Avoid them!! Edit - Copy & pasting a generic answer to everyone who challenges your “cash” insurance policy does not justify your actions. Don’t fall victim to this company.

We booked this car rental company through Vipcars. I have been traveling Europe for over 20 days using different car rental companies. I was to arrive to Crete via ferry terminal. I asked if I can get a shuttle to their rental office. They told me 25 euros. I said no thank you! After I got off the ferry, I found a taxi for 9 euros for me and my friend with all our items. At the rental office around 7:25AM he tried to tell us there would be an additional 50 euros because 25 euros for him to meet us at the office at 7AM and another 25 euros for us to return it at 7AM. Then he tried to give us a car that was dirty and it was missing a trunk cover. We explained to him in Barcelona our suitcases got stolen it is important for us to have a trunk cover on our vehicle. He said that is the only car they have available. We are literally sitting in a lot with other vehicles and he insisted on giving us the busted car. We called Vipcars and they asked us to ask the car rental agent to switch cars and he said, “Well, you can cancel your reservation because we are not giving you another car.” The car rental agent speaking to us like this, John. We ended up having to walk the lot to find another car rental company. The car rental company we ended up using is Right Cars. They are in the same lot. Cut your losses and go over there. We also didn’t read the reviews on this company until this happened to us. If you are standing at Car and Go and something just does not feel right and the vibe you are getting is off, leave it. Make a beeline to Right Cars. So far their service has been great. Oh! I had to pinch myself. Right Car is allowing us to return the vehicle at the ferry terminal. They will meet us there at no additional charge to return the car. Can’t wait to write their review.

!!! A L E R T !!! Do not rent with this scam company! Ever! I rented a car at Carandgo through the Carjet website. when i arrived at the booth at heraklion airport the blue eyed blond employee who signs "R" refused to show the car before we signed the contract. when we found that the car was about 10 years old, full of scratches, the gearshift handle rusted and the driving weel wearied. in addition to the visible aspects, the car did not go more than 70km/h going up and it was a petrol car, not economic at all and the island of crete is full of mountains. the car did not inspire any security. when they delivered the car, the gas tank was not full (as it was written in the contract that it should be) and the tire was a little flat. When we told employee "R" about the tire he replied that if we wanted we could inflate it and even put in the contract that the car was in "Excellent condition" which, as you can see in the photos, is far from satisfactory beyond 800 euros deposit for a car that is not worth 200 euros. We filed a complaint with Carjet and are waiting for an answer. Please do not rent with this scam company!!

This was the wrost car rental experience I ever had. From providing an 10 year old car to block 800€ excess with full insurance, the service is handled by gipsy style employees where they are pushing people to sign the contracts and go not follow any of the rental conditions you might find online. Dangerous and old cars I never felt so miss treated and handled. THIS IS A CAR AND NO GO RENTAL SERVICE.
