Attualmente è parte integrante del museo, la cui sede principale nel 2002 è stata trasferita nel nuovo adiacente edificio. La parte centrale è una bella chiesa greco-ortodossa del 16° secolo rimasta quasi intatta, i cui punti forti - oltre a pregevoli arredi sacri - sono i resti degli affreschi originali ed una mirabile iconostasi che è un capolavoro del 17° secolo con bellissimi dipinti e superbi intagli lignei. It is a building whose central part is the old Katholikon (the main church of a monastery, which was seriously damaged during the disastrous earthquake in 1953), renovated and enlarged in 1988 in order to house the Byzantine Ecclesiastical Museum. It is currently an integral part of the museum, whose main office in 2002 was moved to the new adjacent building. The central part is a beautiful 16th-century Greek Orthodox church which has remained almost intact, whose strengths - in addition to valuable sacred furnishings - are the remains of the original frescoes and an admirable iconostasis which is a 17th century masterpiece with beautiful paintings. and superb wooden carvings.
