Elounda Gulf Villas - Schisma Elountas

Unfortunately not a pleasant experience. One would expect a 700euro/night villa to be a nice place. We stayed in three other accommodations during our holiday, and this one that was meant to be luxurious turned out to be the most difficult and disappointing. Our main issue, the air conditioning didn’t work on the second floor. We were given foldable beds and my two children had to sleep in the living room because it was unbearable to sleep upstairs, and we had to miss watching TV and stick to our own bedroom. We were told the air conditioning was struggling due to the hot weather, however all was good in other hotels we stayed, so this one was just clearly faulty. We understand things break, but with such upsetting discomfort we asked for compensation for using only half of the villa, to which the manager refused. Secondly, lots of little things were broken that you wouldn’t expect at such a price: such as toilet locks, dirty curtains, toilet ventilators. There is nothing around, no access to the beach, private beach is 10 min drive and even that has rocky sand and only several sun-beds next to a main road. None of which is even mentioned in the description. Not to add the photos are misleading, majority of the photos are taken of private villas, main swimming pool which turned out to be small, overlooking electrical wires covered sky and a car park. The reception and restaurant staff were helpful, which was the only pleasant experience. Avoid this place, there are many other hotels around that we stayed at for way less and were way better kept and looked after.

We visited Elounda Gulf Villas for a short family trip (three days) and we had an overall really great experience ! This luxury compound of villas and suites is ideal in order to disconnect and recharge. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful and always there to fulfill any need you have. Our stay started with a seamless check in, a complimentary bottle of Chardonnay plus large fresh fruit and cold plates waiting in our room. Our villa was absolutely beautiful, spacious, extremely clean and fully equipped (spa, sauna, gym etc) with a large infinity pool offering a stunning view at Elounda Gulf and the sea. There is a kid’s club where our daughter loved to play. The Hotel offers unique quietness and privacy and it’s ideal for couples or families who just want to relax enjoying a tranquil private getaway with services of highest quality. Breakfast and Restaurant are top notch: we tasted Greek and international dishes prepared with a unique finesse. Also the Hotel’s has its own private beach (!) and a shuttle transfer service. What we liked the most, the Hotel’s Manager and staff, although discreet, make you feel as home and offer you a distinctive experience of hospitality. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable!

I loved this hotel so much! The service was exceptional, the food fantastic, and our spa villa was just incredible, such amazing views from the private pool. We had a wonderful stay and only wished we could have stayed longer. Absolutely perfect for a romantic occasion and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you to all the staff there for a great time!

Not even the damp weather could dampen our enjoyment of this location. we were looked after from the moment we arrived. There were 8 of us so 4 rooms. Each was grander than the previous one and let me say the least of all these was fantastic. All spacious, clean and great bathrooms!

Great Greece DJ’s if you are looking for wedding DJ in Greece. This DJ team knows how to manage the guests on the dance floor creating a floor filler party. I give them 5 star rating not only for the entertainment DJ performance but also the consultation they provided , months before our wedding event in Elounda in Crete. We had a great wedding party experience in Elounda gulf villas, with sounddesign DJ team.

We had a good stay. Staff was helpful. Our room had a sewer smell which was rectified by a new room on different floor. New room had a small water leak which we put up with. No big deal Entire facility looks like it is 25+ yrs old and shows age. We used the hotel to sleep at night and a storage for our luggage. We were out all day for all of our 5 days there. Breakfast was very decent. If we had to stay in hotel we would have been disappointed. Still worth 4 stars for what it was.
