Outrageous /. I had paid for a car for 15 days and received a booking confirmation. It as confirmed and paid . I showed up at the airport and they say that there was no booking and that hundreds of people were in my situation. This is a disgrace . I had to pay for another car at the last minute from another company . Unbelievable. Never again

TLDR: DO NOT BOOK HERE. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY, CANCEL AND FIND AN ALTERNATIVE When we arrived, they didn't have the reservation we had done on internet, for a car for 3week. They said us this was an IT issue. They were of no assistance, and said "well call this number" (Europcar HQ). THIS NUMBER DID NOT RESPOND. We were stranded and had to find an other solution on our own. We understand by discussing with local that this is happening a lot (overbooking or sheer incompetence?)

Worst customer experience ever, do not rent from them. As per previous comments said they could not find our reservation made on the europcar website and confirmed by email and in the app 2 months prior. Argued it was a system error from the central office. Not their fault and didn't even begging to try and find a solution. Didn't have a car available for us ... Was left there to call Europcar Central office directly and try and get reimbursed. They could not care less at the actual Europcar Heraklion airport agency. Moreover we were left there with no car for our holiday. Again Europcar Heraklion agency argues it's not their problem ... Told us we should go and check in other rental companies if they had cars available. It toke us 2 hours to find a car available in peak season and we ended up paying 4 times the initial price ... Never again will I rent with Europcar which I trusted to be a global and reputable company !

The WORST! We’ve booked our reservation months before our trip, our reservation was at 09:00, and they cancelled it at 09:01, saying they are overbooked and that is how their system works! One minute! They almost ruined our vacation, as without car we couldn’t possibly go on places where we’ve booked our accommodations. Avoid it!!! Cancelling Europcar. Book the car from some nice local car rental place instead.

TOTAL SCAM !! We booked a car two months prior to our arrival and received a confirmation. When we arrived, they told us that our car was no longer available because we were two hours late (we weren’t -our flight was on time). The woman at the desk wasn’t even sorry for us and told us that maybe we could find a car somewhere else....what a joke ! DO NOT rent a car in this place !!!

AVOID! (unless you like driving oldtimers) Booked a car for 2 weeks, two months in advance. On timely check in I was told nothing was available except a dodgy old sedan (Audi A4, type B7) that according to it's stats was at least 13 (!) years old and had a clean but totally worn interior. Some dials couldn't be identified anymore, glove compartment wouldn't open, ashtray wouldn't close. Only option was to take it or leave it and try another company without reservation. So felt we had no choice. Phoned in when a dashboard indicator light indicated engine malfunction after a few days. Was told I could continue driving - however you don't want to find yourself in a broken down car on a deserted mountain road under the burning Cretan sun. Bringing the car back in working order was quite a miraculous achievement and does prove one thing in the end: AUDI does make good cars.

Pros: Office is located just outside the terminal, easy to locate. That’s it. Cons: -Condition of the car was terrible. Whole car was covered in chips, scratches, rust and peeling paint. -When I raised this with the representative I was told they had no other cars to offer me. -The inside of the car had not been cleaned. There were foot prints on the inside of the windscreen. When I addressed this with the representative he said it was probably a cat running on the car. I explained the prints were on the inside of the windscreen and quite obviously belonged to a person, he walked off without saying anything and left us. Extremely disappointing especially in the light of COVID-19 -The seats were all stained. -I’ve never seen a rental car in Europe that’s given to customers with over 70,000km on the clock. -Do not use; terrible customer service and terrible cars, the price isn’t even competitive to at least soften the blow.

It was a last minute reservation a few days ago. Everything was perfect with the service and the vehicle. We got a brand new Suzuki Swift. It was the ideal car for driving along the island. Many thanks to all the team but especially to Mirka who gave us the Best recommendations for our staying. 100% I suggest them.
