Το μεγαλύτερο μέρος της ζωγραφικής διακόσμησης που χρονολογείται την περίοδο 1571-1573 οφείλεται στη μοναχή Ρεβέκκα η οποία εμφανίζεται και ως κτητόρισσα του ναού σύμφωνα με επιγραφές. Διατηρούνται επίσης τοιχογραφίες του 18ου αιώνα που κοσμούν το νάρθηκα, το δυτικό τοίχο και το ιερό του σημερινού ναού. The church of Aghios Nikolaos of Makariotissa was built in the 16th century and was originally a one-storey wooden roof before the successive changes it received, preserving only part of the original western wall. Most of the painting decoration dating back to the period 1571-1573 is due to the Rebecca nun who appears as the owner of the church according to inscriptions. Also kept frescoes of the 18th century which decorate the narthex the west wall and the sanctuary of the present church.
