Small but very nice church. You should visit during your stay in Chalkidiki. There is a store where you can buy stuff directly from Hilandar.

Metoh slavi slavu prvi petak posle Uskrsa. Metoh of Monastery Hilandar in Greece Metoh Milo Arsenic-Kakovo and a small part of Metohha Kumica is in possession of the Hiklandar monastery - Metoh Kakovo, Milo Arsenic, Virgin Living Life ΜΕΤΟΧΙ ΖΩΟΔΟΧΟΥ ΠΗΓΗΣ ΙΕΡΙΣΣΟΥ ΙΕΡΑΣ ΜΟΝΗΣ ΧΙΛΙΑΝΔΑΡΙΟΥ At about 5 kilometers north of Jerisos, there is a meta-monument of the Milo Arsenic monastery or more famous as Kakovo with a church dedicated to the Virgin of the Living Life. The property belonging to the monastery was first mentioned at the beginning of the 16th century in Turkish documents. In this region, the peninsula of Halkidiki, the Hilandar Monastery, had significant estates in the Middle Ages. The size of these estates, rich forests, pastures, olive groves and vineyards varied over the centuries from 10,500 to 1,800 hectares, as it is today, primarily through sales operations, but also by the occupation or refugees from Asia Minor at the end of the First World War and due to expropriation by the Greek state. The methoch is a mountain of 710 meters high, covered with chestnut forest and one smaller part that is arable land. Today, Kakovo has a complete sawmill and carpentry workshop with modern machines for making materials, furniture and woodworking material needed for the reconstruction of the Hilandar after a fire in 2004. As part of the Kakovo complex, there is also a beautiful artificial lake in which the fish is grown for the needs of the monastery. On the site of an old watercourse in 1959, archimandrite father Nikanor undertook the construction of a church dedicated to the Virgin Zivojosnog Istočnika (Eastern Friday), which is celebrated as a celebration of the Metoh in the first Friday after Easter. Today almost all of the Serbian pilgrims who went to the Holy Mountain and the Hilandar Monastery for blessing and gift come to Kakovo, but those who fly in one of the nearby resorts. What is especially popular among women is that this is a chilandarian pose and that there is always one of the Hilandar monks that can fully feel for them the inaccessible spirit of the Holy Mountain. What is highly respected is also among the Greeks, who come from large numbers even from Thessaloniki to attend the Eastern Friday celebrations and are often married here. Beth celebrates glory on Friday after Easter.

Such a peaceful and quiet place, the monks there were super friendly and greeted us after our visit with some water and lukum. If you want to escape the tourist flooded beaches spend some time there. :)

Wonderful nature and beautiful green environment, peaceful and with interesting history. Worth of passing by and very comfortable parking. The lake near by the church is full of big and hungry fishes so it’s very exciting for the kids feeding for those fishes with fish food which is offered near by them.
