★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As we stayed in Artemis Apartments, we were received in the restaurant by Mr. Roussos, the owner. Having read great reviews of the place we had dinner there, and came back two more times for more. This really is a place for the critical foodie, as Mr. Roussos knows good cooking. We ordered the stuffed courgette flowers every time, and had tuna (locally caught) in white wine sauce, rabbit stew, goat cooked in a pot, pork souvlaki - all top notch, and for affordable prices. Don't miss your chance to eat there, and go for the specials!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant pleases all the senses: from the first glance the cool verandah with its traditional gorge stone and bright bougainvillea draws you in. The wonderful aroma of the dishes, I had the slow cooked pork with wild figs casserole, 5* delicious. Whether you choose meat, fish or from the range of vegetarian dishes the tastes are uniquely flavoursome. The service was friendly & prompt, the servers had good knowledge of ingredients & were very helpful. If only we could eat here everyday. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can't say if this is the best place to eat in Agia Roumeli. Mainly because the food was so delicious that for four days it didn't even cross our mind to go anywhere else. Next time we come to Crete, I will plan a trip so that we can eat there every day. Even if we had to go 20 kilometers through the mountains from Sougia.
Contrary to the opinions presented above, the meal ends not only with a carafe of raki but also with a dessert.
