P	Pierre B on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty underwhelming. Basic and rough greek salad with 2 olives and not all the ingredients mentioned on the menu, been charged more than what was announced on the menu. Low standards for tourists coming from the gorge I suppose?

The owner is a generous and great guy too. We were happy to be able to stay here and in the end we felt like being a part of the Taverna.
M	Marta Faryna on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This review is specifically about the bar which I believe belongs to the Taverna. I have stopped there whilst waiting for the boat. There was literally no customers. All I wanted was orange juice. The girl that was serving, was not at the bar, so her friend called her over. When she came, she had a face like she was angry i was even there. Her name was Maria. My God, what an awful personality, Not only she looked annoyed for having a customer, but when i asked to pay with a card, she rolled her eyes and sighed because she had to go upstairs. She was obviously saying something to her friend in greek which I did not understand, What an awful customer service, honestly, I would never ever stop there again. She made me feel like an intruder! The only nice person was a lovely gentleman who took my card payment upstairs. Maria is certainly not a person to be doing a customer facing job, Her attitude was despicable. Smile doesn't cost anything!

L	Laurine Jacqmot on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pizza from the freezer absolutely disgusting. But the rest of the food was quite good. Staff sit at a table, play on their phone or smoke a cigarette. They don't care about you when you call them.

Then hungry as never before we were looking for the best (as always) traditional food to have here in Agia Roumeli. There are many options around and too many choice. There was none at the moment eating at Taverna Tarra and it worried me a little bit. But then when we sat there and other the food it was just the BEST culinary experience I could ever imagine to have after 18 km of walking down the canyon. Have a look at my pictures and judge on your own. Service was kind and lovely as all Cretans are xenofilia and taleme my friend ;).
