★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have just spent a delightful 6 nights at Hotel Gigilos . The accommodation was just perfect overlooking the Libyan Sea and the owners and staff couldn't have been more kind and helpful. We ate each evening in the restaurant because we loved the food which was all homemade and beautifully prepared and after days spent walking in stunning scenery evenings spent in the taverna were a real pleasure. There is much more to Aghia Roumeli than simply being at the end of the Samaria Gorge and we are pleased to have found such a prefect spot for a great holiday. We shall return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stunning views with poor quality food and worse service. They forgot part of our order, water was served warm from a glass bottle with no glasses to drink it from.
The tzaziki and zucchini flowers are the worst in Crete so far. Iced Coffee was good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My stay at Gigilos was excellent! Great hospitality, beautiful location, modern, equipped and exceptionally clean rooms. The sea view from the balcony was wonderful! Food and drinks at the restaurant were great, I enjoyed the traditional Greek cuisine very much. The owners were very kind and welcoming. All in all a very pleasant stay, I will definitely be visiting again soon!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of our favorite places on Crete lovely, clean Seaside rooms with a great restaurant ( all home made cooking). Family own and operated and it feels like home! Great staff who welcomed us back like family. Beautiful black sand/ pebble beach and amazing clear water. We love it here!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Weird practices on the beach with this place. Costs for two beds plus umbrella were 7 euros and we happily paid for it.
After paying the guy came back to say that he forgot to mention that we also had to order another 7 euros in drinks. Something with taxes. We payed for the watered down sodas as we had been walking for hours and already payed for the beds.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We love this place and the family who run it. The food ( made by Mama) is always exceptional and the staff always friendly and helpful. The rooms are overlooking the Sea and have a wonderful breeze. Great place for a nice get away. We will stay longer next time. It is worth the lovely ferry ride.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ we spent a lovely holiday at the family run - Gigilos hotel for 4 nights end of August 2021 as a family of 4. It is in a wonderful location right on the best beach, with free for its guests sunbeds! The hotel was very clean, well-maintained, with very confortable rooms. The view from the room was breathtaking, overlooking the beach and the small port. In the restaurant they serve great breakfast, lunch and dinner with a wide variety of local products and good quality. Anything you decide to order tastes delicious! Staff that is always polite, very helpful and friendly. It is excellent for couples, families and children, and also pet friendly ! great value for money we will for sure come back again and again!
