This place was recommended to me by the owner of a museum is Askefou. Wasn't too far of a drive so I went to check it out.
Everything I ate was absolutely mind-blowing. I has the goad, lamb in the oven, lamb "AntiKristo", moussaka, Greek Salad, dolmathes and Dakos. It was all amazing. The meat is incredibly tender.
I got to talking to Dina who runs it with her husband. Almost all the vegetables are from their own yard. Even the limoncello is from their own lemons!
Absolutely amazing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant promises authentic Cretan cuisine and serves industrial Sakanaki from the freezer - an absolute disaster in terms of taste. Unfortunately, we were overall very dissatisfied with the food and the service. Too bad :-( I give 2 stars because 2 out of 6 dishes tasted very good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best tavern in Crete. Traditional Cretan cuisine, family atmosphere. Delicious fresh dishes, great service, very cool prices. We couldn't eat everything. Large portions. For dessert, a delicious pancake and traditionally homemade Raki. The fondest memory from this region. I recommend it with all my heart. Try it and you will certainly not regret it.
