★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η οικία του Διονύσου, ξεχωρίζει από μακρυά με τις τεράστιες μαρμάρινες κολόνες που εξέχουν πάνω από τους τοίχους.Το πιο διάσημο στοιχείο του σπιτιού είναι το έξοχο έμβλημα στο κέντρο του ψηφιδωτού δαπέδου της αυλής που αποτελεί ένα από τα πιο θαυμασιότερα δημιουργήματα της ελληνιστικής ψηφιδωτής διακόσμησης. Παριστάνεται ο θεός Διόνυσος με ολάνοιχτες φτερούγες, στεφανωμένος με κισσό, πάνω σε τίγρη που φέρει επίσης γύρω στο λαιμό στεφάνι με κληματίδες και σταφύλια. Στο δεξί του χέρι κρατεί ο θεός σαν δόρυ τον θύρσο στολισμένο με ταινίες. Στο δάπεδο, ανάμεσα σε φυτά ένας κάνθαρος, σκεύος κρασιού, όλα σύμβολα του θεού του κρασιού που παριστάνεται εδώ ίσως στο ταξίδι του ερχομού του από την Ινδία.
The house of Dionysus, stands out from afar with the huge marble columns that protrude above the walls. The most famous element of the house is the exquisite emblem in the center of the mosaic floor of the courtyard which is one of the most wonderful creations of Hellenistic mosaic decoration. The god Dionysus is depicted with wide open wings, crowned with ivy, on a tiger that also has a wreath of vines and grapes around its neck. In his right hand the god holds like a spear the thorn decorated with ribbons. On the floor, among plants, a beetle, a wine vessel, all symbols of the wine god depicted here perhaps on his journey from India.

Dionysus was a grape and wine God of Ancient Greeks, represented here winged on a tiger in a huge and amazingly preserved mosaic in the central part.
