★ ★ ★ ★ ★ absolutely red hot in the airport, no air con. My family had young babies and it was very hard to keep them cool, then we were all rushed out onto the waiting deck to get on the plane, but just stood about, plane we were getting on wasn’t even disembarked so we just all stood in the heat waiting for no apparent reason, we could have stayed inside for another 20 minutes before being herded like cattle to stand watching the plane empty of passengers. I’m so glad we had an evening flight because I would have hated to be stood out in the blistering heat. Been many times and it’s ridiculous

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chania Airport is small enough to feel relaxed, and to move around easily, and we found it to be efficient at the business of passenger handling! It's a €25 taxi ride into town, or just €3.5 on the very comfortable bus. There is none of the hard sell of booze, perfume, and tat, so familiar at other airports. Arriving at Chania Airport feels like a holiday has already started.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice little airport in Chania, named after a Cretan revolutionist against the Ottomans. Be careful with the cash points as they all charge extra money during withdrawal. If you walk outside to the main hall, those cash points are cheaper! It has good taxi service, but that is a bit expensive too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Airport has improved over the last 10 years. More facilities & better managed in general. The extension has made a large difference overall.
Shame that the cafe that used to exist, just before you entered the Airport grounds has gone. Taken over by Hire Car companies. That was a good spot to relax & have a bite to eat & drink, away from the hub of the airport. Even so, there are enough coffee & snack places in & out of the airport area - just not the same though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ For it's size this airport can be very efficient, I have taken trips where u have arrived only 30 minutes prior to the flight and still the staff helped get me through on time and make the flight! Very seasonal, way fewer flights during off season. Favorite airport in my favorite city!

All is clear where to go, where is rental car offices, which, in fact, straight after baggage claim, you just go out of arrival area a d on the left you can find a clear area with all rentals. Very effective and fast. The parking with rentalcars just outside, easy to find. The service is great, English speaking, very welcoming and customer oriented. Amazing service in overall.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good airport. Clean, fast. Does not work at night. Bus station is just in front of the Departure zone. Lots of car rentals in the building and nearby.
BTW, good duty free here, with reasonable prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great Airport. Nice and clean. Outside there is coffee shop option. Inside past the gates are burger and pizza place as well as the duty free section. Bus stop it literally outside the main doors and so are the car rental places. Great airport in a great city. Loved my time in Chania, Crete and it started at a great airport and finished at a great airport which made the trip even more enjoyable. Thank you to Chania Airport and the staff working there.
