Kydon Rent a Car Chania Airport - Αεροδρόμιο

We chose this because of the good reviews, but we ended up being both disappointed and concerned. First of all: The gas amount was 6/8 bars, but on the contract it said 7/8. The car was also full of scratches, but not a single one was mentioned on the contract.  We had to go back to state the fact and was met with a "Yeah, we know, just take some pictures" Last but not least: The car made a warning sound almost every single time we turned it on, stating "WARNING: Low tyre pressure". We contacted the rental company, who asked us to go to a gas station and fix it ourself.. "Okay, but we don't know how much pressure the tyres need" we said... Look in the manual, they told us (but the manual was purely in Greek)... And here comes the most concerning part: They then told us, that if the warning kept appearing, they could help us disable the warning... SAY WHAT? You are ready to just disable the warnings, instead of resolving the issues? Well.. that's comforting. Wonder how many warnings they already disabled? Furthermore the car sounded VERY thirsty for oil. (I wonder if they expected me to fix that also?) Wonder if they even check for braking fluids etc? I will not rent from this company again for several reasons: -I expect the contract is in sync with reality. Neither the amount of gas and the pleothara of scratches was mentioned correctly. - I expect things like tyre pressure, oil levels etc to be checked from the agency before they hand over the car. This was obviously not done. -I do NOT expect to be told to fix such problems, and I sure as hell do not expect to be told, that "there is ways to disable the warnings, if they keep appearing". I care about safety. We will use a different rental company next time. EDIT: Thank you for the reply, and for indicating that you do acknowledge some of the critique. I do have to say, that we DID go to a gas station and checked the tyres pressure according to the instructions, that we found on a label on the inside of the fuel-flap. The tyre pressure was fine, which obviously make your statement about a punctured tyre a blatant lie. Quite on the contrary, the pressure was way higher on two of the tires that stated on the label. For that we move from 2 to a single star, since zero stars is not an option. Regarding the fuel: No.. you didn't charge me for missing fuel, because I didn't wanna risk the hassle of having to catch a plane and arguing with you. Thats why the car was returned with 7/8 bars full. If you acknowledge that you wrongfully stated a false amount of fuel, you could compensate us for the amount we had to top it off, due to your errors. Honesty always pays off.

The whole process went smoothly. The car I rented had enough power to drive comfortably on steep roads. Nice and helpful staff.

I totally recommend this car rental agency! Everything was clear. We had full insurance which not icludes off roads (I guess it is standard in Crete). People working there halpful. We had no problem in anything:)

Everything perfect! Arriving in Chania the desk is in the terminal, they were very nice. I called to change the location to drop the car and they facilitated everything. Only 50€ to change it. Very nice and helpful people. Recommend! The car was very well as well.

We rented the car from Kydon at the Chania airport just after we had arrived (without prior booking). It took max. 10 minutes to get a car - fast and friendly service. We were driving Skoda Fabia III for more than one week (almost 1000km) and there were no problems with that car. What is worth to mention is that you won't pay extra money for an additional driver and there's no credit card freezing. Prices are really reasonable! Highly recommended!

Exceptional service! We had complications with the chain car rental companies at the airport but Kydon welcomed us with great service and made the process so quick and easy. The car was super clean and we enjoyed the rental with zero complications. I'd HAPPILY rent from them again. 10/10
