Royal Rentals - EO Aerodromiou Soudas

We had no problems with renting a car so I recommend this rental company. A person from the Royal company was waiting at the airport with a sign with a name on it. Then he drove one person from our group (only the driver) to the rental pavilion, which was about a kilometer from the airport. The driver was returning (driving a rented car) for the remaining passengers. The procedure was similar when we returned the car. The car was a bit dirty inside, we also noticed scratches on the body that were not marked in the protocol - I recommend that you pay attention to such situations immediately when renting and take photos. As with every rental car company they try to sell their additional insurance, but we had our own insurance from worldwideinsure (I recommend it! - much cheaper) and they didn't have any problems with it. The deposit blocked on the credit card is 800 euros. The fuel level was 2/8 and the same amount had to be returned. We gave the car back without any damage and the deposit was fully refunded.

Very friendly, great car, great price. Upon returning, everything done in one minute, no problems or fake damage claimed. Would use again. Very funny employee?

Admittedly, I was initially reluctant to utilise Royal Rentals due to the reviews, however, the significant difference in price between them and their competitors compelled me to do so. I can honestly say that my experience was extremely pleasant from the offset. Landing in a foreign country for the first time and having to locate a small car rental stand can be challenging. The instructions provided made the task manageable as you quite quickly noticed there are dozens of different rental companies grouped into one area primarily but it took 5 mins from walking out of the airport to arriving at the desk in Heraklion. At which point, we were welcomed by a lady who assisted with our rental and guided us through the process. This was an extremely pleasant and painless experience and we were offered a choice of which car to take from the group. 10 mins later we were in the car and on our way to start our holiday. The return was at Chania airport which was equally as seamless. We were welcomed by a gentleman carried out the checks and arranged for a transfer to the airport which took approx. 5 mins. Ultimately the whole experience was efficient, cost effective and very pleasant. The staff were extremely accommodating and polite at both locations, the car was very reasonable and the price was highly competitive. For these reasons, I would highly recommend Royal Rentals.

Great experience. Maria was super friendly and ensure checkout was quickly and efficient. I was given 2021 Toyota Hybrid which was clean and great car. I paid for full insurance which covered for any damanges and price is competitve. Small amount was blocked on card during the rental period to ensure we return the car but it was refunded same day once returned. I would recommend Royal Rentals.

Happy with Royal Rentals. They stayed up late when our flight was delayed till the early hours of the morning. Pick up and drop off were quick and trouble free. But most of all there was no hassle. No hard sell of unwanted extra insurance. No attempt to charge for invisible scratches. Bliss.

We received nothing but 5* service from royal rentals! Our flight was delayed and we didn't pick our car up until 1am and the guy waiting for us was so nice and kind! Nice clean little car too, no problem at all returning it and having the security deposit released I'd definitely use royal rentals again! Edit: I must add it's slightly futher that 70m from the airport but it's a literal 5 minute walk and not a problem at all

It's only a small office but not far from the airport (easy to miss if you're not alert). No problem with using the creditcard providers excess waiver insurance, which I have encountered with other companies. The car was in good condition and the employees friendly. No problem during the whole process. Would recommend and use again. ?

We rented a scooter for 4 days. The personal was nice and friendly, we had to wait ≈15minutes because they had another customer but that didn't bothered us. The location is quite far from the airport, basically you have to exit the airport and turn left and go for maybe 10 minutes and then you'll find it, there's a street with tons of rental companies, so if you find couple of them. You're on the right track. The scooter we rented was a new one. It had couple of scratches on it but it is normal for a rented vehicle. We was ok with that, nothing to complain. The price we paid was a good one. Anyway there's always room for discounts ?. The procedure was a bit clumsy as we paid full in advance on the website, and it wasn't stated that we have to leave a deposit. The standard deposit we had to leave was 1000€ but I didn't had that amount of money on cards, so we had to buy extra full insurance for 10€ each day, so with 40€ extra we had to pay a deposit of 300€. The deposit was made from the card. And the payment was reverted 2 days after we drop off the scooter. The experience overall was nice, we was very satisfied with the 50cc scooter. It was a powerful one. The only downside I had was the deposit situation..if it would be stated in the confirmation email we would had the money to give for deposit without having to pay extra for insurance. But it turned out ok. I recommend, if we'll ever come again to Crete we will probably rent a scooter again from them. The only thing I would recommend to the company is to change the visors of the helmets that are too scratched. We chose 2 helmets with visor but those was quite scratched..I mean you can drive with them. That's not a problem, but it's a bit annoying when you wanna admire some sights and there's always something in the way? but you can drive with visor open if you're willing to eat some flies. Don't recommend to vegetarians tho.
