Green Motion Car Rental Crete - Heraklion Airport - Main Terminal

SCAM! Booked a car for my vaycation on Crete in advance from Germany. Paid it with my Mastercard. 14 days = 457 Euro for the smallest car you can get. On second day of vacation we had to pick up the vehicle from the office of GREEN MOTION which is located in Adeliamos Kampos in Rethymnon, Crete. The opening hours which were given to us by the head office of "AUTO EUROPE" ( the cooperation company of GREEN MOTION) were : 8.00 am- 21.00 pm monday-friday. Noboby was there either in the morning nore in the evening. Were went two times to check if somebody was in the office. Second time we went, we rang the door from the neighboors to ask if they knew the employees of GREEN MOTION. He said something like " Yes i kow the guys...sometimes they come and work at the office...but most of the time, there is noboby...."!!!! Kind enough he calls the number which was written on the window of the office and talked to the empleyee in greek. The employee said , he is on the way to the office. (Keep in mind that all this happened in normal OPENING HOURS...so there has to be somebody in the office in the first place!) We waited a good half an hour until a employee arrived. He was on the phone and did not even said "hello" which in my opinion in rude on so many levels. At least say "hi" to your CUSTOMER!!!!10 minuter later he hang up the phone and said " So we have a problem, we have no car for u..." I was wondering, how did this happened? Nobody was there in the morning opening hours, nobody was there in the evening opening hours....so how in the world you have rented MY CAR THAT I PAYED to somebody else? But with the office being closed???? There was no car at any given time at the office in my opinion. So the employee basically said we were late and thats why there was no car anymore....My question is, if you are NOT AT THE OFFICE TO SEE IF SOMEBODY IS THERE and wants to pick A PAYED CAR up, HOW CAN YOU EVEN SAY,YOU ARE LATE TO PICK IT UP?We called the headoffice of GREEN MOTION in heraklion and AUTO EUROPE. We were told that our car rental was cancelled due to not arriving on time....The lady from the head office (Irini) was very rude. listen i don´t have your money, BOY".....Maybe you haven´t had a training in how to talk to your customers, which in fact pay money to get a service, but that is a problem your boss has to deal with. I would have fired you ASAP! So we spoke to a few other employees of GREEN MOTION AND AUTO EUROPE. They all answered the same: " We don´t have your money"! I aks for a little obligingness. That was our second day of vacation and we had planned many trips with a car. Noboby was kind enough to help us. So we left the office frustrated and sad because we were basically betrayed and the 457 Euro were gone. Next day we called AUTO EUROPE again. This time there was a were friedly german speaking lady which was so kind and willing to help. She told us that they have to find out what the problem was. So we rented a car from "Traffic Car" which is a very good car rental office in Rethymnon. We payed a very fair 300 Euro for 14 days for small Daewoo Matiz! And had the best Vacaition ever. Yesterday we received a E-mail from AUTO EUROPE in which is stated that our money is beeing paiyed back. They had to charge 50 Euro processing fee for the whole matter. We are very happy about getting our money back! If you want to actually have a car on your vaycation, i would rent if from maybe "Traffic Car" or "Hertz" or "Enterprise" to save you from headache and worries and for the most important point save you from fraud.

Fast and easy checkout without waiting time or extra caution fees. We driven in every street and corner of crete in a whole week.

Do not rent from them. Our ferry was late (something we can not control). They have access to all the information regarding ferries at the port. When I called to see how to retrieve our car that we booked for 4 days once we finally arrived, they told me they cancelled the reservation. I asked what I should do next and the woman said “I don’t know that’s your problem” and hung up. They did not offer to help us find another car or allowed us to simply pick up the next day. I had this rental scheduled for months. They left us stranded.

Rented car via Ryanair with full insurance. Read on internet about horrible experiences with Greenmotion looking for barely visible scratches. In reality, I received comparable car to one that I ordered. Had zero problems upon returning car. Friendly lady just checked if car is in order and whether fuel level matches what was agreed. My credit card deposit was canceled very quickly. Recommended.

After arriving at Heraklion, we checked the prices at multiple rentals, the cheapest was GreenMotion with a gap of 170 euros to the next one. We got a Toyota Aygo for a 1 week. Please be aware that most of the cars are with half tank, this is normal to Crete, and you should bring back with half as well. Also please ask at the desk about any credit card reservations made , we were told no reservation will be done, which was true. We also were offered to pay in cash, without any credit card details on file for them. Another good point is to ask for any damages on the car, and ask the previous paper of the car history to see some notes. Based on this we identified there is a dent in the back of the car, which was also marked on our papers. We made our own set of pictures. There were no problems when we brought the car back. The traffic in Crete is extremely moderate, some streets are narrow, and in Heraklion there are very few parking places available. The AC was truly helpful.

Booked a small VW Polo up front on the internet, but got a more spacious White Fiat which was nice. Make sure to pick up your car directly in the Airport, not at the place 1km away from the airport ;) Return and Pickup were done quickly and they were not very picky. Good and affordable option even with the best insurance option booked in advance.

I had a great experience renting a 7 seat minivan for 7 days, with 2 child seats. The person at the counter was absolutely great! He was also there when I turned the car in, very early morning. I was provided all the relevant and important information I may need and the people in the pick-up lot had a thorough look and marked down all existing scratches and marks on the car before handing over. The return was quick and simple! Although the car didn't have many kilometers overall, you could see signs of heavy usage (the dings I mentioned above and the upholstery), but there were no problems driving it around and feeling comfortable in it. Overall coming to Greenmotion was a great experience and saved me quite a bit of money. I will come to them again, when visiting Greece!

We have mixed feelings. The lady who rented us a car from hotel - nice and professional. Unfortunately, during the rental, the wheel was damaged. We had to pay for them, but judge for yourself whether such a tire should be mounted in the car? According to the invoice, it was replaced with a new Miechellin tire :)
